Now all covid restrictions have been removed and mandatory testing is no longer required, we ask you to be respectful to other players and do not attend matches or training if you think or know that you have Covid. It is still contagious and will still impact the vulnerable members of our community. We thank you for your co operation.

This guidance is based on documents published by England Korfball which also link to information published by other organisations, including Sport England and the GOV.UK and NHS websites. All guidance is subject to change based on changes to the Government guidelines and the local COVID Alert level.

Before starting korfball activity
1. DO NOT attend training/matches if you answer “YES” to any of these questions:
• Have you been in contact with anyone with or suspected of having COVID-19 in the last 10 days?
• Has anyone in your household had COVID-19 symptoms in the last 2 weeks?
• Have you been advised to self-isolate due to an infection within another setting, such as school?
• Have you returned from a foreign country in the past 14 days, one without a travel bridge and, therefore, should be in quarantine?
• Do you have a new persistent cough?
• Have you had any loss of taste or smell?
2.Pre arrival: You need to sign up to training which will also act as a declaration for the above.
3.An attendance register will be recorded on the day. We may pass on the attendance register, together with attendees’ contact details, to relevant bodies to support the NHS Test and Trace service, if required.
4.Arrive ready to play. Avoid use of the changing rooms and showers for indoors training.
5.Ideally drive alone, cycle or walk to training. If sharing a vehicle, consider a seating arrangement to maximise the distance between people.

During training
• Maximum number of participants. Outside: 30 people (includes everyone including coaches etc.)
• The club will have a risk assessment for all activities
• Modified korfball rules: “Guarded korfball” (see the next page). Coaches will advise on this during training.
• Do not place bags and water bottles in a group but space them out to maintain social distancing.
• Taking out and putting away equipment (e.g. posts etc.): Follow instructions from the session organiser about the procedure for this in order to maintain social distancing.
• Wash hands and clean the ball/post regularly – at least every 20 minutes. This will be guided by the session organiser.
• Minimise sharing of items. Put your name on your water bottle.
• Socially distance 1m+ when not playing e.g. during breaks and team talks.
• Avoid touching others e.g. no handshakes/high fives etc.
• Avoid touching your face. Cover your mouth and nose if you cough or sneeze.
• Face coverings. Indoors: Required for non-players (coaches, volunteers, officials)
• Outdoors: Strongly advised for non-players
Additional guidance for matches
• Wash hands and clean the ball and post at all major stoppages e.g. beginning, end, breaks in play, substitutions.
• Scheduled breaks in play last 2 minutes to provide time for sanitisation.
• If cleaning the floor, wear a face covering and wash hands afterwards (inside only)
• No spectators are allowed. (Inside only)
• If you develop COVID-19 symptoms within 48 hours after training, inform the COVID Officer ([email protected]) and follow

Current Government guidelines (as on 1/12/20): If you develop symptoms, you should start self-isolation for 10 days and book a test (e.g. through the GOV.UK website) as soon as possible. If the test is positive, follow the NHS Test and Trace procedures. The COVID Officer will inform other participants who you may have been in close contact with during the training session (without revealing your identity) and will advise them on the appropriate action to take according to the Government guidelines at the time
